FAQs

Listed below are some frequently asked questions that can assist you in making the many decisions that need to be made.We hope you’ll find these useful.

How Much Does a Funeral Cost?

Funeral costs vary depending on the funeral home and the type of service selected. There are two types of costs associated with a funeral:

  1. Services provided by the funeral home and
  2. Merchandise such as a casket or urn.

What Are the Advantages of Pre-Planning My Funeral Arrangements?

Planning your funeral arrangements in advance allows you to freeze the cost at today’s prices—even if you pass away 30 years from now—keeping your investment safe.

Planning ahead also relieves your family from the burden of trying to make decisions for your service that they think you would have wanted.  If you take the time now to plan your service, those you care about will be allowed to grieve instead of worrying about arrangements.

As with any important event in life, funerals and burials require planning. Doing so spares your loved ones the added stress of making arrangements on one of the worst days of their lives.

I’m Thinking About Cremation

You’re not alone. Cremation has surpassed the preference for ground burial. Cremation allows for as many, or more, memorialization options as a traditional burial and service. You can place the ashes in an urn and bury them, place them in a vault, or you can customize your cremation in almost any way you choose. We also have a Free Cremation Garden. Call us at (765) 771-7789 for your free Everything Cremation Guide and check out Cremation Options here.

If I Don’t Have a Funeral, Can I Still Have a Memorial Service?

Yes. Gather family and friends for a Celebration of Life and include photos and stories from your loved one’s life.

If I Choose Cremation, Can I Still Have a Funeral?

Yes, many families have a traditional service before cremation. A casket may be open or closed if you wish to have a service. A closed casket is appropriate for service before cremation. If the family wishes an open casket, embalming and other preparations are required. You can also choose to have a service with the urn. The point is the choice is yours.
